Why We Built It
Counterfeits are one of the most common headaches for Funko collectors, especially when buying rare or vaulted figures secondhand. Box art, stickers, and vinyl quality can look convincing in a listing photo, and by the time a fake shows up in person it is often too late to get a refund. We wanted a fast, free way for anyone (not just GrailNest members) to get a second opinion before they pay a premium.
How It Works
The flow is simple:
- Upload one or more photos of the figure and box
- The tool checks the images against a growing reference corpus of verified figures
- You get a result in seconds, flagging anything that looks off
It's built to catch the case that matters most: someone selling the wrong or fake item, not just quibble over minor box wear. The scan looks at print quality, box details, and figure construction rather than penalizing normal handling and shelf wear.
